Helping organizations that make Calgary a better place to live.

Clever Canines has always known that giving back to the community that has allowed us to thrive since 2005, is an important part of our business.  Annually we donate more than $10,000 in cash and services to various charities and causes within our community.  We can’t do everything were asked to, but we always do as much as we can, below are a few of the organizations we helped over the last few years.

Amazing Organizations We Support!

  • Hurricane Katrina

One of the first acts of charity undertaken by our Founder, Tracie Nielson, was in the fall of 2005. Tracie went with a team down to New Orleans to help with animal rescues in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The team spent two weeks camped outside of the city making daily trips in to rescue the dogs that residents were forced to leave behind during the evacuation. Each night they would help various rescue organizations with behaviour assents and train volunteers to deal with timid and scared dogs.

  • Rehabilitation Society of Calgary

Since 2005, Clever Canines has been supporting the Calgary Rehabilitation society put on their premier event Christmas dinner! Each year Clever Canines purchases, prepares and serves the food for the Re-Hab society’s Christmas dinner for about 200 people. Our team donates time and love to help this deserving group have a wonderful Christmas dinner and help raise money for their yearly operations through ticket sales to this sponsored dinner. The smiles we get are all the thanks we need!

  • Connaught Off-Leash Dog Park

Clever Canines sponsored a six-week free training program throughout the summer of 2018 to support the re-opening of the new off-leash park at Connaught Park. This was Calgary’s first urban specific dog park. This program was designed to give park users and community members the chance to ask questions and learn about what behaviours are appropriate at an urban off-leash area and how to have a safe respectful place to have fun with their dogs.
