Couldn't get into the 10-Week group class? On a waiting list for the next set of group classes to begin? Can't wait to start training your dog?
Jump Start is not a replacement of the 10-Week group class, rather a class designed to give you some tools, education, and skills to start working with your dog now.
Jump Start has replaced our private in-home session for most cases. We have included the same information covered in our normal private sessions, plus some information from our group class.
You will learn basic canine psychology and behaviour, basic obedience, and we will deal with your specific issues and challenges. Jump Start will give both you and your dog plenty of things to focus on.
Jump Start consists of a 2 hour seminar and 4 hours of hands-on work with your dog. Jump Start takes place over 3 days. First you attend a two hour seminar to learn all about your dog and why they behave the way they do and what you may be doing to contribute to their behaviour. Then a few days later you attend your first 2 hour hands on session with your dog where we start to put into action the lessons you learned at the seminar. We then send you home with one weeks worth of homework. When you return for your second 2 hour hands on session the weeks worth of homework will have helped form new good habits with your dog which we can start to build on in this session. In the second hands on session we start to go beyond the basics and help you understand how to teach your dog any command you want by going through the process by which dogs learn.

After completing the class, you can expect to understand your role as a pack leader and your dog’s role as a follower. You will be able to identify areas where you have unknowingly sent mixed messages, and learn what being consistent really means.
The cost of this comprehensive 6 hour course is $265 per dog (includes gst). ($155 for each additional dog from the same family.) Graduates of this course will receive 10% off in the next upcoming 10-Week group class.
